Cheshire County 4-H is collaborating with several organizations to offer a series of outdoor recreation and environmental education programs in 2026. The initiative aims to provide hands-on learning experiences for participants interested in nature and science.
The program includes events at various locations such as the Harris Center in Hancock, Great Brook Farm Sugar House in Walpole, Distant Hill Nature Trails in Alstead, Pitcher Mountain Trailhead in Stoddard, Robin Hood Park in Keene, and Pisgah State Park in Chesterfield. Activities will focus on topics like animal tracking, vernal pools, caterpillars, insects, and ecosystem health.
Teachers and experts from organizations including the Harris Center, the Caterpillar Lab, and the Keene Astronomy Club are expected to lead sessions throughout the year. The events are open to all members of the community.
“If you need an accommodation to participate in our programming, please contact Astara Zuorski, a.zuorski@unh.edu or 603-352-4550 prior to the event. Given ample time, we will make any reasonable effort to meet your needs, including language access services if requested, which will be provided free of charge,” according to Cheshire County 4-H.
More details about specific events are expected to be announced as dates approach.
