Community Services Seeks To Replace Remaining Older Water Meters

0Comments

Community Services has replaced nearly all older water meters that have exceeded their life expectancy. The new water meters will help improve billing cycles and timeliness of billings. These water meters also track hourly use, aiding homeowners with leak detection. More than 8,200 new water meters have been installed since the program started a few years ago.

There are still a few hundred of the older water meters that need to be changed out despite multiple attempts by city workers to schedule a water meter change out. Soon, these residents will be notified that if they don’t have their water meter changed, their water service will be turned off and remain so until the new water meters are installed.

Changing out water meters is quick, usually taking about 30 minutes or less to complete. City workers are willing to come to do the swap out at a time convenient for the homeowner.

To schedule a water meter replacement or for more information, contact the Water Sewer and Billing Office at 603-516-6028.
