The Dover Public Library is inviting our teen patrons for a one-of-a-kind gaming experience: the Summer’s Scourge LARP! This original Live-Action Role Playing game (LARP) combines the storytelling of Dungeons & Dragons with the in-person challenges of an escape room. Taking on the roles of heroes, our players will explore the library and its grounds while solving puzzles, following clues, and avoiding the malevolent spirits working against them. With spells to cast, traps to avoid, and mystical creatures to outwit, this will be a library event like no other!
This game is designed for ages 13 – 18 and will be held May 22nd from 2:00 – 4:00 PM, starting in the Lecture Hall. Players can come as themselves in regular clothes, or they may come in any fantasy or historical costuming they would like. This LARP was written with the help of game designers at the Wayfinder Experience summer camp in New York.

Library hours are currently to Monday-Thursday 9am-8:30pm, Friday and Saturday 9am – 5pm, and Sunday 1am – 5pm. Starting after Memorial Day, library hours will change to Monday-Wednesday 9am-8:30pm, Thursday and Friday 9am-5pm, and Saturday 9am-1pm.
