The Children’s Room, at the Rochester Public Library, is excited to announce the launch of “Musical Moments with Abby,” a program designed to introduce the joys of music and movement to infants and toddlers. Starting June 20th, this 30-minute program takes place at 9:15 am on select Tuesday mornings on the library’s back lawn throughout the summer.

“We feel fortunate to have Abby, both a resident of Rochester and an Elementary Music teacher with us this summer to provide a high-quality, no-cost program to the community,” said Christina Paquette, children’s librarian.

With a focus on creating a fun and interactive environment, “Musical Moments with Abby” offers caregivers an opportunity to bond with their little ones through music. This program aims to stimulate children’s creativity, enhance their cognitive development, and foster a love for music from an early age.

“It brings me so much joy to have the opportunity of bringing music to the infants and toddlers of Rochester,” said Abby Keller, organizer. “As a K-5 music educator, I was missing out on the world of early childhood music. It wasn’t until having children of my own that this passion sparked while immersing them in music groups and classes as infants. Music is so critical to the social/emotional development, brain development, and overall happiness of young children! Let’s get singing, moving, and playing!”

Please bring a chair or blanket for the lawn. The program is weather dependent. In the case of rain, the activity will move inside. For more information and general inquiries, visit www.rpl.lib.nh.us/children or call (603) 335-7549.
