City of Dover issued the following announcement on November 13.
The annual Dover Holiday Parade that typically occurs on the Sunday following Thanksgiving will not happen this year, City Manager J. Michael Joyal Jr., said during his City Manager's report at the Nov. 10 City Council meeting.
Joyal said the organizations that most recently produced the parade were not able to organize it this year. The Dover Holiday Parade is not a City of Dover or Greater Chamber of Commerce event. Each year, a civic organization has undertaken the production of the parade. Last year, the Dover Holiday Parade was canceled due to COVID-19 concerns.
Although the traditional Holiday Parade won't occur this year, Dover Main Street will escort Santa and a few elves through portions of the city on Sunday, Dec. 12, from 1 to 4 p.m. The parade route has not yet been announced. Visit Dover Main Street for more information.
If you want to revisit the holiday parades of the past, tune in to Channel 22 on Sunday, Nov. 28, for a day-long parade, beginning at 6 a.m. and continuing until 10 p.m. that evening. Over the course of the day, more than 10 years of parades will air for this special broadcast.
Not able to watch on Channel 22? Catch the Channel 22 live stream at https://dovernh.viebit.com.
No need to bundle up this year while waiting for Santa. Kick back and enjoy a daylong holiday parade.
