Barrington Public Library recently issued the following announcement.
All gingerbread houses must be brought to the Library by Friday, December 10th to be displayed for voting. You will need to fill out a submission form when you drop it off which will include the names and ages of participants and the gingerbread house’s name – please do not include your family’s name within the title as this is a blind-vote competition.
All Barrington residents are welcome to submit their own gingerbread house creation or use the kit registered for and provided by the Library. The base of the house needs to fit in a 12” X 12” space and all decorations must be edible!
Prizes will be awarded in two categories:
Children (17 and younger) – it is okay if adults supervise and/or minimally assist.
Adults (ages 18 and older)
Voting will take place the week of December 13th – 18th in the Library and online through a link on our website or in our social media posts. Please only vote once for each age group.
Winners will be announced on Monday, December 20th. Participants are more than welcome to come by and pick up their gingerbread houses – they will be great decorations at home! Note: any house still at the Library by December 23rd will be disposed of.
