City of Dover issued the following announcement on November 29.
The Strafford County Extreme Weather Warming Center (Warming Center) at 30 Willand Drive in Somersworth opens for winter operations at 5 p.m. today, Monday, Nov. 29, 2021. The Warming Center will be open daily through April 1, 2022. Volunteers are needed to assist with operations.
The hours of operations are Monday through Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m., and all day and night on the weekends, holidays and winter storm days.
The Warming Center is a partnership of the cities of Dover, Somersworth and Rochester and the Community Action Partnership of Strafford County (CAPSC). CAPSC will provide staffing and oversight at the Warming Center through the winter season. CAPSC also seeks community help, including meal donations and volunteering at the Warming Center. CAPSC has created sign-up links for interested community members.
