Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on December 6.
National Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Day took place November 19th and Jewelry Creations supported the cause in a significant way; raising $4100.00 in just a few weeks.
Store owner, Kelly Glennon, who lost her father to the disease ten years ago, raffled off a $500 Jewelry Creations gift card and sold raffle tickets at just $10 each. This is the fifth year the store has participated in the awareness day and has raised nearly $25,000 in that time.
“Pancreatic cancer has affected so many and more needs to be done in terms of research,” according to Glennon. “Since the loss of my dad, I have worked to increase awareness and fight for a cure. Every dollar helps and I’m so appreciative of all the support we received from our customers and community,” she added.
One hundred percent of the proceeds of the raffle will be sent to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation and will be directed towards funding for research.
