City of Dover issued the following announcement.
A public hearing on the Strafford County Commissioners proposed 2022 budget is this Wednesday, Jan. 26, at 7 p.m. in Courtroom Two of the Strafford County Superior Court.
The hearing is with the Strafford County Delegation, the elected body of state representatives from Strafford County that votes to adopt the commissioner’s budget. The Strafford County Commissioners submitted its 2022 budget to the delegation on Jan. 15, 2022. It is available online here.
Following the public hearing, the delegation subcommittees will deliberate the budget from Thursday, Jan. 27, to Friday, Feb. 18. On Friday, Feb. 25, at 9 a.m., the delegation's executive committee will receive the subcommittee’s budget recommendation and then make its budget recommendation for the full county delegation to consider. The Strafford County Delegation is scheduled to meet Wednesday, March 9, at 7 p.m. to adopt a final 2022 budget.

By state law, the delegation has until April 1, 2022, to adopt the budget. If it does not, the commissioners’ proposed budget will be in effect. For more information, contact the Strafford County Commissioners’ Office at 603-742-1458.
