City of Dover issued the following announcement on March 9.
Registration remains open for Dover Main Street’s annual Run Before You Crawl 5K Road Race, to be held this Saturday, March 12.
Dover Main Street's eighth annual Run Before You Crawl 5k kicks off the 2022 Dover Race Series. The USA Track and Field certified course is the classic race loop, starting at Chestnut Street, to Washington Street, up the infamous Whittier Street hill, down Sixth Street, and back to Chestnut Street. New this year will be a large, heated registration tent in the Transportation Center parking lot to help stave off the cold before race time. Water and snacks will be provided by Janetos Market and Hannaford’s.
With the uncertainty of COVID-19 when the race was planned, Dover Main Street decided not to hold the annual pub crawl after the race. However, Dover Main Street encourages runners to take a break after their run at one or many of Dover’s downtown restaurants and bars. Registration for the 5k is $25 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. The first 150 registrations will receive a free 2022 performance race shirt, which will be available for purchase for $15 thereafter.
