Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce: Hope on Haven Hill receives funds for new facility

Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on March 15.

Local and statewide New Hampshire businesses have rallied to support Hope on Haven Hill’s (HHH) capital campaign to raise the funds needed to build a new facility on Charles Street in Rochester.

 

HHH Executive Director, Kerry Norton announced that nineteen businesses have generously donated to the campaign  through the Community Development Tax Credit Program which is designed to give tax credits to businesses who donated through the program, creating a win-win for both the business and nonprofit.

 

“We are thrilled to announce that through the generous pledges that we received from local and statewide businesses, we have been able to secure $316,500 in pledges with $43,500 remaining for State fiscal Year 2022 and $140,000 remaining for State fiscal Year 2023. states Kerry Norton, HHH Executive Director.

 

“We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the following businesses:  Piscataqua Savings Bank, Raiche and Company CPA’s, Jake Kaplans of Milford, Lakeside Development Corp, A-D Archambault Plumbing and Heating, Newburyport Bank, Enxing Auto Holdings LLC, Great Bay Staffing, C&S Wholesale Grocers, Coughlin Rainboth Murphy and Lown PA, QA Technology Company; McSills Realty, Label Tech, McSills Realty, Meredith Village Savings Bank, Wit-Way Supply, Martini Northern LLC, Logical Innovations LLC, and Ron Currier’s Hilltop Chevrolet” adds Norton.

 

Businesses interested in helping HHH reach its goal of raising the final $183,500 are encouraged to contact Ms. Norton at Knorton@hopeonhavenhill.org.

 

The tax credits will support the organization’s goal to construct an 8,000 square foot facility  to be called the Center for Hope and Wellness.  This center will become the heart of the organization, a hub for families in recovery offering treatment and wellness programs, workplace training, child care for parents in programs and community space for a range of healthy leisure and learning programs.

 

The second award of $60,000 was granted under the CDFA’s Capacity Building Program that will provide the organization with funds to create a workforce training program for women who have completed treatment and are seeking to attain new skills and secure employment.

 

Hope on Haven Hill is a 501c3 nonprofit organization with a mission is to provide a place where pregnant, post-partum and parenting women living in poverty and battling substance use disorder can access residential and outpatient treatment, recovery support and recovery housing.  For more information please visit: www.hopeonhavenhill.org.

 

CDFA’s tax credit program awards approximately $5 million in tax credits annually in a competitive grant round.  The program aims to support organizations that are engaged in community economic development initiatives that show a high degree of community support, build partnerships, and leverage other resources.
