The Recreation Department still has spots open for its final swim lesson session of the summer, its water safety instruction course and its lifeguarding course.
Swim lessons
The final swim lessons session begins Monday, Aug. 8. Swim lessons are open to children six months and older.
The session runs Monday through Thursday, through Thursday, Aug. 18. The cost is $60 for Dover residents and $80 for non-residents. Space is limited and filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Registrations must be completed online at getactive.dover.nh.gov.
Water safety instruction course
One spot remains for the American Red Cross water safety instruction course that runs from Monday, Aug. 15, through Thursday, Aug. 18. This course is geared toward those seeking to become swim instructors.
The training runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, and participants must attend all sessions in their entirety. The cost is $375.

American Red Cross lifeguard training and recertification course
Space is still available in the American Red Cross lifeguard training program that runs from Monday, Aug. 22, through Thursday, Aug. 25. This course is geared toward those seeking to become a lifeguard or recertify as a lifeguard. Participants must attend all classes. Recertification will be held on Aug. 25.
The training runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, and participants must attend all sessions in their entirety. The course cost is $300; the recertification is $60.
