On Friday, November 11th, at 9 a.m., Southeast New Hampshire Habitat for Humanity (SENH Habitat) will kick off the 4th Annual “Rotarians Raise the Roof” build in celebration of Veterans Day. SENH Habitat is excited to join forces with the Rotary Club of Portsmouth and Team Rubicon on this NH Veteran family build.
The Rotary Club of Portsmouth’s William Cash Fund generously provided $5,000 in grant funding to purchase building materials for this project in addition to volunteering on Veterans Day. “The William Cash Committee is pleased to once again contribute to the Veterans Build, financially and with this hands-on project,” shared Barbara Miller, Committee Chair.
SENH Habitat officially broke ground in August on this property donated by Candid Arcidy at 35 Richards Way. The team has been working hard on this veteran build alongside the family, volunteers, corporate sponsors, and supporters alike. We are grateful to Rotary, Team Rubicon, Timberland, Norm Vetter Foundations, T.W. Excavating, Northwestern Mutual, Market Square Architects and the University of New Hampshire in addition to so many others.
Frank (Mikey) Galloway is a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps and proudly served as an Intel Analyst from 2009-2014. Mikey spent most of his time in the service stationed in Southeast Asia. For two years, Mikey was a part of a humanitarian assistance mission aboard the USNS Mercy hospital ship.
Marcie Bergan, Executive Director of SENH Habitat, said “This will be an astounding day of fellowship and so many hands working together to help a fellow veteran realize his dream of homeownership for his family, while honoring US veterans and victims from all wars.”
Marcie and Jessica Hamilton are both members of the Rotary Club of Portsmouth. This is a dynamic civic group of over 160 members, volunteering countless hours of community service and fundraising in the Seacoast area since 1923. This year, Rotary Club of Portsmouth is celebrating their 100th Anniversary and always looking for new members to help make the Seacoast community stronger.
