A new online study module has been introduced to help individuals understand the rules for pesticide use in New Hampshire. The tool is designed for those preparing for licensing exams, reviewing regulations, or seeking general information about pesticide application.
The module aims to clarify the requirements set forth in the NH Code of Administrative Rules, Pes 100 – 1100. According to the announcement, “As a user of pesticides on a farm or as part of a business, it is your legal responsibility to know and follow the rules laid out in the NH Code of Administrative Rules, Pes 100 – 1100. Reading and deciphering the Code of Administrative Rules can be challenging. We’ve developed this module to help you understand the sections of Pes 100 – 1100 that apply to you.”
The purpose of these regulations is described as follows: “These rules aim to allow for safe and effective use of pesticides while minimizing the risks and adverse effects that pesticides can cause.”
Feedback from users is encouraged by organizers: “We value your feedback. If you found this module helpful, let us know by emailing us at pesticide.safety@unh.edu.” Those with further questions are invited to contact organizers by email or phone.
For individuals interested in becoming licensed applicators, University of New Hampshire Extension offers training programs for both new and prospective applicators.
Additionally, those seeking recertification credits can find a list of approved courses through the NH Department of Agriculture, which includes both online and in-person options.
