School Crossing Guards needed for upcoming school year

City of Rochester recently issued the following announcement.

The City of Rochester is looking for dedicated part-time Crossing Guards to join our Police Department.

Crossing Guards are responsible for safe crossings of the roadways and directing traffic in conjunction with the moving of children to and from school and related work as required. Training is provided.

Multiple openings are available at the following locations:

  1. Lowell Street
  2. Franklin/Chamberlain Streets
  3. Brock Street/Holy Rosary Credit Union
  4. Railroad Avenue, Gonic
  5. Portland Street, East Rochester
  6. Portland Street/Crow Hill Road
  7. Granite Street
The positions are part-time, 7.5 hours per week. Applicants must be available when school is in session, from 7:45am to 8:30am and from 2:45pm to 3:30pm.  Applicants must have reliable transportation to and from their post and will be required to work in varying weather conditions. A background check is required on all applicants. The hourly rate is $15.00.
